Moon Landing

NASA's Apollo 11 mission successfully landed the first humans on the Moon, fulfilling President Kennedy's vision.

On July 20, 1969, American astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first humans to walk on the Moon as part of NASA's Apollo 11 mission. Armstrong's words, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind," were broadcast to an estimated 600 million viewers worldwide. The achievement represented the culmination of the Space Race between the United States and the Soviet Union and remains one of humanity's greatest technological accomplishments.
