Fall of Troy

The legendary city of Troy fell after a prolonged siege by Greek forces, as recounted in Homer's Iliad.

The Fall of Troy marks the end of the Trojan War, one of the most important events in Greek mythology and Western literature. According to tradition, the Greeks besieged Troy for ten years before finally breaching its walls through the stratagem of the Trojan Horse. While the historicity of the event is debated, archaeological evidence at Hisarlik in modern Turkey suggests a city was indeed destroyed around this period.
